Optical Biometry‎

Currently, an optical Biometry (determining the power of an intraocular lens with an ‎IOL master device) is a standard method for calculating intraocular lens strength in ‎clinical examinations. Optical Biometry is a highly non-invasive method for measuring ‎anatomical features of the eye that is performed in this hospital by the 500,700 IOL ‎Master.‎

The purpose of this photo

The purpose of this test is to measure the various anatomical features of the eye that are ‎needed to calculate the intraocular lens power. This is a precise measurement to ‎determine the correct lens strength that is followed by intraocular cataract surgery. It ‎should be noted that the physician chooses the lens number based on the scoring ‎determined by this device.‎

Actions before the photo

The patient does not need any special preparation, such as dripping, and etc. But it is ‎necessary to avoid using soft contact lens one-week before the test‏.‏

This test requires complete patient cooperation because of that its necessary not be tired ‎and sleepy‏.‏

Steps

First, patient information is entered into the device and the patient is asked to place ‎his/her chin and forehead at the specified location blink and then do not move for a few ‎seconds and look at the red dot in the center of device. Images and information are ‎printed on the sheet and delivered to the patient. The data is analyzed and then the ‎intraocular lens type is selected and the results are printed.‎

Complications

Complications have not been reported.‎

Place and hours of doing
